Fare Capping

Did you know there is a fare cap when using your TFI Leap Card?

If you use multiple public transport services (Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, Luas, DART and commuter rail) throughout a day or a week (Monday-Sunday), you will be glad to know that we will automatically cap the price so that you will never spend excessively on public transport services.

More information is detailed in the table below, once an “Adult” has spent €9.50 on their daily services, your card will be capped so you can travel around for the rest of the day for free. Same for the weekly cap on Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail services, once an “Adult” spends €37 in one week with these public transport operators you pay nothing additional for the week. Once you have reached the daily or weekly cap, no Travel Credit will be charged on your TFI Leap Card.
